pmPoint ships with many customizable SharePoint templates to give your group a very fast starting point. The current release of pmPoint includes:

The pmPoint templates are not just for project managers. pmPoint templates support the four main project roles typically involved in project management: (i) Team Members, (ii) Project Managers, (iii) Program Managers / Senior Managers and (iv) Project Office teams.

The pmPoint templates support the normal project management capabilities you would expect from a mature set of project management templates, such as: Project Management, Program Management, Portfolio Management, People Management, Vendor Collaboration, Process Management and Cost/Budget Management.

The pmPoint templates support two main approaches to task management. The simple tasking process, offered by the BrightWork Task list, allows you to add tasks without defining dependencies and parent child relationships. The tasks can be viewed in a Gantt chart if needed.  The more formal work breakdown structure approach, offered by the pmPoint Project Schedule list, allows you to add tasks, with dependencies, parent child relationships, automatic date recalculation and detailed Gantt views. This approach also supports the ability to import and export from and to Microsoft Project.

The templates come with many out of the box reports for work and project management. All of these reports are extremely configurable from a simple settings page. You can also create new reports for the templates using the pmPoint reporting web parts as a fast start.

All of these templates were built on top of SharePoint using standard SharePoint features and enhanced pmPoint features. This means that your group gets all standard SharePoint features, customizable in the normal fashion, and the extra pmPoint features, also customizable using the familiar SharePoint customization interfaces.
