What’s New In BrightWork 15.10

January 21, 2019 by

BrightWork has released the new latest update, 15.10, to its project and portfolio management solution on SharePoint. With the updated version comes a host of new and exciting features including:

  • Updates to Boards
  • Project Cache Mapping
  • Security Updates.

Updates to Boards

BrightWork 15.10 Boards

The Lists Board view was introduced to BrightWork in version 15.8 and has received immensely positive feedback from our user base. Kanban boards enable project managers to move through work quickly, addressing risks, tasks, and issues in a visual, modern way.

The Boards feature in Brightwork has been visually enhanced and can now display one, some, or all of the following on the card; a title, a user, a date, a priority, a reference number along with a progress bar. This gives both project managers and team members increased visibility into the real-time status of projects at a glance.  The look and feel of boards has also been enhanced with new out-of-the-box themes allowing you to customize your project site even further.

Project Cache Mapping

BrightWork 15.10 Project Cache

The Project Cache allows you to report on Project Summary information from the Project Statement, Project Tracker and Project Metrics. Previously the only way to map columns from these sources and customize the Project Cache was by accessing the Global Project Cache mapping file. This process was not easy and required SharePoint Designer 2013 along with a knowledge of HTML and XML coding.

A new feature has been added that simplifies mapping a column from the Project Statement to the Project Cache, removing the need to edit the global Project Cache mapping file manually. The Project Cache is a powerful reporting tool and this new functionality makes it more accessible and customizable to even more BrightWork users.

Improved Security

BrightWork 15.10 Security updates

To maintain compliance with U.S. Federal and State security requirements, updates to third party libraries used in BrightWork have been applied.

These security updates ensure that BrightWork remains compliant and secure. For this reason, we recommend upgrading to version 15.10 or later.
