More Visual: Gantt Charts
Project scheduling is crucial to project management success and the best way to visualise and work your project schedule is through Gantt Charts.
Gantt Charts have been a key component of BrightWork and one of the most popular features among our customers for some time. They allow project managers to absorb key information such as, project timelines, tasks, responsible team members, dependencies, milestones and progress, all at a glance in one single web part.
BrightWork has started a new journey towards enhancing Gannt Charts and implementing a new modern experience for Project Managers. The new Gantt is currently available in the Project Cache and will be rolled across BrightWork in the coming releases.
Faster Reporting: Work Cache Enhancements
The Work Cache is a feature available within BrightWork Reporter that enables faster cross-site reporting. The Work Cache data source is designed as an alternative to work and issue reports that report across multiple sites.
The Work Cache reports across the following lists: Tasks, Issues, Goals, Risks, Project Change Requests as well as Project Requests.
The Work Cache is now enhanced with added support for custom list types. It is now possible to exclude list types from the Work Cache. For example; Tasks, Risks or Issues giving you more control over how you report on your work across multiple projects.
Better User Insights: User Access Report
Generating a report of how many users have access to your site collection can be a laborious process. BrightWork simplified this process in previous releases with a Web Application timer job and improved even further in the latest release.
This feature generates a CSV file that reports on all users with Read access or above for each BrightWork site collection.
This process has been made even easier as SharePoint Administrators can now optionally configure the User Access Report timer job so that the User Access Report CSV file is saved to a specified SharePoint Document Library.
This SharePoint Document Library can then be shared with non-SharePoint Administrators, removing the need to access the server’s local drive to access the report.
To maintain compliance with U.S. Federal and State security requirements, updates to cross-site scripting in BrightWork have been applied.
These security updates ensure that BrightWork remains compliant and secure. For this reason, we recommend upgrading to version 15.14 or later.
