The 5 Enemies of Project Management [Infographic]
There is a wonderful quote from a Prussian Army Chief of Staff that can be paraphrased as follows:
“No plan ever survives the first encounter with the enemy”. (Helmuth Karl Bernhard Graf von Moltke (1800 – 1891), Chief of Staff of the Prussian Army and Master Strategist.)
When we say that no plan ever survives the first encounter with the enemy, we should probably identify the enemies! There are at least five enemies of project management and I’m sure you could add another few yourself. These so-called enemies are the normal stuff of project management. This is what a project manager is trained to expect to have to contend and deal with.
