How Business Managers Can Use SharePoint To Make Work Easier

Choice Indicator Icon Columns

Hi Folks, my name is Donal McCarthy, technical writer at BrightWork. I will be blogging about pmPoint and SharePoint features that you may not have known about. This week I’m going to talk about the Choice Indicator Icon columns. These columns allow you to map a value in a choice column to an image. You can display the image on the list form, in views and in BrightWork reports. For example, you could get a flag to display for a selected country. A more common use of the Choice Indicator Icon is to map a status-type column, as with the Health/Health Indicator, Time/Time Indicator, Quality/Quality Indicator and Cost/Cost Indicator column pairings in the Project Statement. The Choice Indicator Icon column can be added to any SharePoint list in a pmPoint site collection (i.e. not just the native pmPoint lists). You can use your own images or you can leverage the images that come with SharePoint and pmPoint.
