Reporting
“pmPoint’s dashboard interface is highly effective for communicating project statuses at the varying levels of detail our stakeholders need. We now have a way to efficiently roll-up departmental efforts (project and non-project tasks) and streamline month-end reporting, charting and graphing. Plus the recent release of pmPoint version 7.0 provides resource time tracking and planning which should greatly improve our IT governance and has also impressed our annual Risk Auditors.”
Work and Project Management is all about knowing what is going on. Is my project late? What work do I have to do today? Give me a summary of all the projects in my department. Are there any open red issues? What work has to be done by Friday? And the list goes on. One of the advantages of the SharePoint platform is that it so easily stores information in lists and libraries. However it is very difficult to get the information back from the same lists and libraries with the native SharePoint capabilities. For this reason BrightWork has invested very heavily in a work and project management reporting infrastructure for SharePoint.
pmPoint's reporting infrastructure delivers a powerful reporting engine that rolls up data from different lists and libraries across multiple project sites into highly configurable and customizable reports. Reports can have inbuilt data filtering, including the option of in-report dynamic filters.
Over 100 reports are included out of the box. These reports are delivered in a variety of formats and types - all designed to meet the varied work and project management needs of today's leading organizations. Reports types delivered include Gantt Charts, Project Status, Resource Tracking, Work Tracking, Issue Tracking, Charts and Graphs, etc. You can use these reports out of the box, you can easily customize them and you can use the reporting infrastructure to create your own reports.
Reports can be distributed in a variety of ways, including: email (on demand and on a scheduled basis); printed; exported to Microsoft Excel; exported to XML; and exported to SQL Server for integration with data from other enterprise applications.
All reports are highly configurable from the interface. You can select the displayed report, change the report type, select the columns to display, grouping, sorting, chart type and many other things from the report settings page. For more advanced customization needs, the report editor allows you to take existing reports and modify them to do things like add lists and columns to reports and create new list and site filters.
