pmPoint for SharePoint 2010

“We at Microsoft are very pleased that BrightWork have shown Project 2010 and pmPoint integration working so early in the 2010 release cycle. We believe that the ability for customers to see a dashboard of reports in SharePoint that reports across many project sites with data synchronized in from Project Professional 2010 will be very appealing, and will provide a natural stepping stone to the full capabilities of Project Server 2010.”

Seth Patton, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft Project

BrightWork pmPoint is a SharePoint add-on for managing work and projects of varying size and type. The combination of the varied work and project management templates, and world class SharePoint reporting infrastructure, make pmPoint the best work and project management application for SharePoint available today.

BrightWork pmPoint for SharePoint 2010 comes with the option to take advantage of the new Microsoft Project Desktop 2010 Sync to SharePoint feature.  With pmPoint on SharePoint 2007, you can import and export tasks from Microsoft Project, but with this 2010 functionality, pmPoint enables you to fully synchronize Microsoft Project 2010 tasks into pmPoint project sites in SharePoint 2010.  These Microsoft Project tasks are then fully available in all pmPoint reports on the single project and cross project and portfolio dashboards.

As before we at BrightWork will ensure that pmPoint is deployable on the “free” version of the SharePoint platform – named ‘Windows SharePoint Services’ in the 2007 platform and renamed by Microsoft in the 2010 release to ‘Microsoft SharePoint Foundation’.  We also ensure that the BrightWork product set deploys and takes advantage of the paid version of the SharePoint platform, called MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server) on the 2007 platform and renamed by Microsoft in the 2010 release to ‘Microsoft SharePoint Server’.
