“pmPoint’s dashboard interface is highly effective for communicating project statuses at the varying levels of detail our stakeholders need. We now have a way to efficiently roll-up departmental efforts (project and non-project tasks) and streamline month-end reporting, charting and graphing. Plus the recent release of pmPoint version 7.0 provides resource time tracking and planning which should greatly improve our IT governance and has also impressed our annual Risk Auditors.”
Dorieta Martin, Director of Project Management at Life Care
Life Care Centers of America is a privately owned operator of skilled nursing centers in the United States. Headquartered in Cleveland, TN, the company manages more than 225 facilities throughout 28 states and provides specialized services such as home health care, as well as occupational, speech, and physical therapies. In addition, Life Care operates centers specifically for people with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.
Life Care initiated a search for an off-the-shelf Project and Work Management application that would support a newly established Project Office responsible for managing the various and growing number of projects across the organization’s departments. Its primary requirements for the chosen application included the flexibility to track and manage project related tasks and work items (or non-project tasks). It specifically needed to be able to capture the overall planned and actual effort for these project tasks and work items, and with a growing pipeline of projects, comprehensive reporting was a critical need.
Life Care had already successfully deployed Microsoft SharePoint and BrightWork’s pmPoint product – a SharePoint based project and work management solution – was a natural contender. After evaluating a number of SharePoint and non-SharePoint based solutions, Life Care chose pmPoint. In addition to meeting their feature requirements, the product was found to be easy to use, highly adoptable and a ‘fit’ within the organization’s current infrastructure.
