"With BrightWork, we wanted a methodology, not just a tool, so we developed, trained and implemented on that methodology. We customized BrightWork to have a Plan Management System for principals. A principals day is crazy, they don’t have time to do any administrative work so we kept this in the forefront of our minds that they truly see BrightWork from day one as a value-add rather than just additional work to do. A lot of the BrightWork customization we did allows principals to get-in and get-out quickly and track their plan without a lot of oversight."

Problem
DPS had the major challenge that School Improvement Plan adherence and progress was not reported or tracked consistently across the district. New leadership expected consistent communication and wanted to track these plans using the full project management discipline.
Solution
DPS developed a layman’s methodology and implemented BrightWork as a “Plan Management Tool” based on that methodology. School principals use BrightWork to track SIP’s and report to leadership using data from BrightWork. Throughout the deployment, it was most important that principals’ work be enhanced and that they see BrightWork as a value-add, rather than extra work they had to do.
